James Abate

Ian Dighe

James A. Abate, CPA, CFA  is the Managing Director of Centre Asset Management and Fund Manager for the firm's American Equity and US Hedge strategies. Prior to Centre, James was US Investment Director for GAM, responsible for the start-up and portfolio management of the firm's in-house strategies focused on the large cap segment of the US equity market. James joined GAM in 2001 and grew strategy assets to a peak of over $1 billion. Previously, James served as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager with responsibility for Credit Suisse Asset Management's principal active large cap equity portfolios (Select Equity), a strategy he started, as well as the firm's New York based global sector funds (peak assets of $5 billion). 


Nick Ford

Nick joined Miton Group plc from his role as Investment Director on the US and Global Desk at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership. He has over 20 years of experience in managing equity funds. His previous roles include co-manager of the Gartmore US Smaller Companies fund, manager of the US unit trusts for Sun Alliance and Clerical Medical, as well as working as a member of the small cap team at F&C Asset Management.  

George Godber

Prior to joining Miton Group plc, George co-founded Matterley in 2008 and was co-manager of the group's flagship Undervalued Assets Fund. This UK fund developed a strong reputation with clients through delivering impressive performance through the volatile markets. Prior to founding Matterley, George was a Director of Credit Suisse. He has twelve years of complementary market experience   in investment banking and pan-European equities. 


Nick Greenwood

Nick commenced his career in private client stock broking during the late 1970s. Nick was a founder member of Christows stockbroking operation in 1991. He joined the Christows Investment Trust team setting up their London office in 1995 and became lead manager in November 1997. Nick joined iimia in July 2002; iimia Accelerated was launched in April 2003 and was followed by iimia Investment Trust Nick became Chief Investment Officer following the merger with Exeter Fund Managers in August 2005.

A subsequent merger with Miton Asset Management occurred in November 2007 and the iiT changed its name to the Miton Worldwide Growth Investment Trust in 2010.
iimia Accelerated was renamed to Miton Select Assets in July 2009 and subsequently changed to CF Miton Worldwide Opportunities Fund in October 2012.

Hugh Grieves

Hugh joined Miton Group plc in January 2013 having previously worked for Herald Investment where he was responsible for managing the Herald Worldwide Fund. From 2000-2008 he co-managed the technology funds at Societe Generale Asset Management Ltd with Alan Torry and sole managed the funds from 2008-2009. Prior to that he worked from 1995-2000 in the US smaller companies team at Gartmore, having graduated from Bristol in Economics. Hugh is a CFA charterholder.

Georgina Hamilton

Prior to joining Miton, Georgina was the lead analyst for Matterley's flagship Undervalued Assets Fund from January 2009. Georgina has a double first in Biological Anthropology and Natural Sciences from Jesus College, Cambridge and is a CFA charterholder.

David Jane

David has more than 25 years' experience in investment management. He previously founded the Darwin Group in September 2010. He was also Head of Equities Investments at M&G. David Joined M&G in December 2000 as a Fund Manager in the global specialist equity team. He was portfolio manager of the M&G Managed Fund and M&G Cautious Multi Asset Fund, which he launched in February 2007 and grew to over £300 million during his tenure. Prior to M&G, David was the Head of Global Financials Research a AXA Investment Management. Prior to AXA, he was at Newton Investment Management as Director of Global Financials Research. He also served as Non Executive Director of M&G High Income Investment Trust plc from October 2002 to July 2010. David graduated with a B.A. Honours in Statistics and Economics.

Eric Moore

Eric Moore joined the PSigma Income team in May 2010 before joining Miton Group plc in July 2013. He began his career at Gartmore and spent 10 years there in a variety of roles, including co-managing the Gartmore UK Growth Fund. In 2005, he moved to Insight Investment as Director of UK Equities where he was responsible for co-managing a combined £5bn of institutional and retail money. Eric holds an MA (Hons.) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, from Trinity College, Oxford and an MSc (Hons.) in Cognitive Science, from the University of Edinburgh. Eric is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.


Anthony Rayner

Anthony has 17 years investment experience. Previously he worked for Darwin Investments focusing on the portfolio construction and risk on the Darwin Multi Asset Fund. Prior to Darwin he worked for M&G working on portfolio construction and risk for UK equity funds and then for the multi asset fund range.

Xavier Smith

Xavier Smith is Investment Director and Fund Manager at Centre Asset Management, LLC and is responsible for the firm's Global Select Equity strategy. Prior to joining Centre Asset Management in 2014, Xavier was a Managing Director at Guggenheim Global Trading in New York. Before Guggenheim, Xavier worked at Calypso Capital Management in New York as the Sector Head for the Global Industrials Sector. Prior to Calypso, Xavier was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London. At Goldman Sachs, Xavier was an Equity Analyst covering the Consumer Products, Healthcare, Industrials, and Technology sectors. Xavier joined Goldman Sachs after attaining his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Xavier graduated with honours from Tulane University and earned a degree in Economics. Xavier is a CFA charterholder

Martin Turner

Martin Turner joined Miton Group plc in May 2011. Prior to Miton, Martin has spent nearly 20 years in the City. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1995 before moving to Rothschild and in time on to Head of Pan European Mid and Small Caps Sales at Merrill Lynch. Following this, Martin was Head of Sales at Teathers/Landsbanki before taking the Head of Small/Mid Cap Equities role covering research, sales and trading at Collins Stewart. Martin and Gervais have worked closely since 2004, and their expertise and skills are expected to complement each other in seeking to deliver premium returns for their investors.
Martin is Fund Manager on the CF Miton UK Multi Cap Income Fund (previously Acuim UK Multi Cap Income Fund), CF Miton UK Smaller Companies Fund and the Diverse Income Trust plc.  

Gervais Williams

Gervais Williams manages a number of funds that aggregate to over £1bn, including the Diverse Income Trust plc.  He is also Managing Director at Miton Group plc, the independent listed fund management group that has a reputation for offering strategies that are distinctive from most others. His fund management career extends over nearly 30 years including 17 years with Gartmore Group Ltd, where he was head of UK Small Companies investing in UK smaller companies and Irish equities. He won Investor of the Year awarded by Grant Thornton at their Quoted Company Dinner in both 2009 and 2010. Gervais is a member of the AIM Advisory Council and a board member of the Quoted Companies Alliance. He is also on the EU Taskforce reviewing why the number of smaller IPOs has declined over recent decades. Gervais published his first book 'Slow Finance' in the autumn of 2011, and his second book 'The Future is Small' was published in November 2014. He was recently awarded Fund Manager of the Year 2014 by What Investment.
